Join i understand for the 2022 – 102nd Santa Parade in Downtown Grand Rapids. Walk or ride the trolley in this fun and festive parade on International Survivor of Suicide Loss Day.

Let’s walk to kick off the holiday season and come together in support and love for those we have lost. We will be announcing our special guests soon!

We will have candy and lots of pink hearts to share with the crowd.

Blanket Drive

Finding comfort in helping others, while honoring our loved one is an important part of our healing journey after a suicide loss.

Join us as we support project #EAS by donating a soft and fluffy throw blanket to provide as comfort gifts for those who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Feel free to leave a positive note of encouragement with your blanket.

These blankets will be delivered to Pine Rest Mental Health Hospital on January 4th.

Teen Loss Support Group

Tuesday, December 13

This group is for teens/young adults who would like support navigating life after a suicide loss.
Join i understand for this teen group meeting to learn of i understand’s beliefs, the importance of the narratives used, and to find support from others who have been through similar experiences.
We bring the lived experience and a trained therapist to each session for a unique support group experience through i understand and a trained counselor through Mosaic Counseling.

After Loss Support Group

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 21

Join i understand and Mosaic Counseling for an after loss support group.
i understand provides the lived experience and Mosaic Counseling a trained counselor. Together, they will help you navigate life after a suicide loss.
Life after a suicide loss is devastating, confusing and very misunderstood. Our hope is to provide compassion and understanding to something so difficult to understand.
The lived experience and a professional therapist provides a unique yet meaningful session to support you in your life after loss.

B THE ONE RUN

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10 – 8:30 AM – EAST GRAND RAPIDS

The B the One Walk/Run will take place on October 10th – World Mental Health Day which serves to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world. Hosted by Biggby Coffee, proceeds from the event will benefit i understand. Our goal with this event is to encourage individuals to ‘be the one’ for someone who is struggling with their mental/brain health.

This event is open to all ages. All participants will receive a bib, t-shirt, & goodie bag.
